Hi Katrina You could try the Menoforce sage tablet with your evening meal, this is specifically for flushes and sweats and usually starts to work quite quickly. It is fine to take with the Menopause Support. Remember to drink lots of plain water as sweats/flushes cause dehydration and dehydration can make all your symptoms worse!

Hi Carol If you are still experiencing menopause-like symptoms such as hot flushes or night sweats after all this time then they may be due to other factors such as low iron levels, low thyroid function, low vit B12 or low vitamin D levels. It may be a good idea to ask your doctor to test for these just to rule them out. If none of these affect you then the symptoms may be an indication that your nervous system has been overwhelmed at some point. Coming off HRT (especially if you did it quickly) or if you have had any stress over the last few years can have a huge impact on your nervous system which doesn't resolve itself. Adrenal Stress causes many menopause like symptoms such as flushes, low mood, weight gain etc. If this is the case then it is important to do supportive work for the adrenals, such as taking magnesium and calming herbs such as Passiflora or Valerian. Acupuncture can often help with mysterious flushes and you could also try our sage tablets. Also check your water intake. Flushes/sweats can dehydrate you very quickly and dehydration can affect the nervous system resulting in more flushes! https://www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/sage-tablets-menoforce/index.php

Hello, I'm having terrible hot flushes throughout the day & night so affecting my sleep. I feel physically drained after a flush as I get palpitations too. How long will I have to take your sage tablets for & will the flushes return when I stop taking the tablets? Thanks :)

Hi Carol You may find the sage tablets beneficial as this is specifically for flushes and sweats. I would suggest taking the tablet with your evening meal. We do find that if you get a better night's sleep this has a positive impact on symptoms the next day. It is difficult to say how long you would need to take them for, some women find they only need them for a short while but for others they need to take long-term. I would also recommend a high does magnesium to help with the palpitations and sleep, 200mg twice a day with food. Remember to drink lots of plain water throughout the day as flushes can dehydrate you very quickly and dehydration can trigger more flushes and palpitations!

Hello Aminata, Menoforce sage tablets are specific to help tackle hot flushes or night sweats. The menopause can cause lots of different symptoms. Although there could be various other reasons for these symptoms arising as well. I would ask the doctor to test your hormone levels, iron levels, low vit D or low thyroid, just to clarify the situation for you. In the meantime, it is important to drink plenty of plain water to keep hydrated and reduce any congestion. A magnesium supplement could help period cramps. Our Molkosan original might be a good starting point if you feel that you have a lot digestive issues.

Hi Linda Yes, irritability, mood swings and impatience are really common so you are not alone here! Falling oestrogen can affect our ability to control our emotions so these surface a lot more often. You may find AvenaCalm or Stress Relief Daytime can help and I would also suggest a magnesium supplement 200mg once a day, this is great for keeping your mood up. https://www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/avena-sativa-avenacalm/index.php https://www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/stress-relief/index.php Sage can be really helpful for the sweats and usually works quickly. https://www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/sage-tablets-menoforce/index.php

Hi Mary Some women start to see benefit within a week or so but we do advise taking for a month as it may take a bit longer depending on your symptoms. There are no specific side effects listed, it is usually well tolerated.

Hi Ellen Yes, if you check the Patient Information Leaflet on the product hot flushes are the number 1 side effect listed. Your flushes could be a combination of both. However, If you are concerned about this then you could ask to have a chat with your pharmacist who should be able to go through it with you.

Hi Gemma Flushes in the menopause can be caused by a variety of factors such as falling oestrogen, stress/anxiety, dehydration, too much caffeine, fizzy drinks or high salt and sugar foods, being too busy or run down, not getting enough rest, exercising too much, being on a low calorie diet and lots more! Why not check out your diet and lifestyle to see if any of these could be contributing to the flushes. You could also try the sage tablets as these are specifically for hot flushes and night sweats.

Hi Joanne Your hormones can continue to fall for quite a while even after your periods have stopped so this could be why your symptoms are getting worse. However, there could be other causes such as stress so look back to when they first started to get worse and see what was going on in your life and you may get a clue! You may find the sage tablets, 1 taken with your evening meal, can be of benefit.

Hi Leanne You can take the sage tablets, these are specifically for hot flushes and night sweats and usually work quickly and they can be taken with your patches. It may also be an idea to ask your doctor to test you for low iron, low thyroid function, low vitamin D and B12, these can often creep into the menopause and cause similar symptoms. https://www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/sage-tablets-menoforce/index.php

Hi, I've just started to get hot flushes, around one every hour, my last period was due 2 weeks ago, I'm 49, I'm guessing this is the start of menopause. Will my periods return and will taking Ginseng or St Johns Wort work. Thankyou

Hi Sarah Missing periods are often one of the first signs that you are approaching the menopause and hot flushes can appear at this time too, you are in the average age range 45-55 so it is possible. Periods at this time can come and go for a while or they can just stop, unfortunately, it is difficult to say how yours will unfold as it is different for every woman! If you have low mood/anxiety that can often be helped by St Johns Wort and Ginseng is used to help support the nervous system which is often under pressure when the hormones start to change. However, I don't recommend both together. You may find our Sage tablets helpful for the flushes.
