I am 38 years old and I have been told that I am going through the menopause. I have just recently started getting some pain in the joints of my fingers, making it very difficult to grip or fully open my fingers. I also find that when I roll over in my sleep I experience a sharp pain in the muscles in my back which wakes me up. I am unable to roll over without pulling on the mattress to haul myself over. Are theses symptoms likely to be caused by the menopause and how can I alleviate them? I would also like to know if there is anything I can take to stop myself bursting into tears for no apparent reason and at the most inopportune moments.
